Same ol Same ol

Sorry that I haven't been blogging lately, but we really haven't done anything interesting. Though here is a picture of my two guys doing the two things that Thompsons do best. Eat and be lazy.

Actually I have been sewing again. I broke out my sewing machine yesterday and really enjoyed it. I have been making Boppy slip covers for our new nephew that is on the way. We couldn't have just any run of the mill slip covers for the new one, so I am making some that are a little more funky. I am getting pretty good at it too, if I do say so my self. You can actually see one in the background to the picture above. So to all the new Moms out there, or ones soon to be if you would like a Boppy slip cover for your new little ones hand crafted by me. I would be happy to do so. I can make them to match the babies rooms, or something completely different. Just let me know.

Guitar Hero

So I bought this item for my Husband for Christmas. Thinking that it might be a fun game. And it seemed to be the it thing for this Christmas. I heard some where that it was a billion dollar industry now. But lately it has been ridiculous, When He's home this is all that he wants to do. Kyle thinks its funny and likes to bang his head to the music, and wants to strum on the guitar as well. Thats fine but we don't get too. Kris is a guitar hero hog. Be warned that this too may happen in your household too. I don't get to play, and I don't get to watch TV either. Lets just hope that the writers strike continues on for the duration of my husbands Guitar hero faze. I guess that I should have known better that to bring the game home.

Just want to let you know how grateful I am that Kris is home right now. And to show you all the great dad that he is with Kyle.

The two dancing!
The two after being caught dancing. What boys!

Annoying

So today I decide to do some much needed grocery shopping. We were down to just one roll of toilet paper in our house. So the number one thing on my list was TP. So I drive off post (since the commissary is closed on Mondays here at Ft Knox) into Radcliff to the local walmart. And surprisingly the parking lot was pretty empty and I get rock star parking. I'm doing awesome inside not that many people to stop in the middle of the aisles. Kyle starts to get fussy as it is getting close to nap time. I think I have everything, so I head to the check out and head home to put Kyle to bed. As I am unloading the groceries, what do I realise that I have forgotten to buy but toilet paper. UGGGG. I can't just run back to the store, since I have put Kyle down. I have to wait 3 hours for my sleeping beauty to finally wake up. Only to have to drive back to walmart to pick up TP. This time it was crowded. Very Annoying. I hope the rest of you had a better Monday than I did. :)

P.S. I Love You

Well I saw my first movie in a really long time. Kris gave me the afternoon off from watching Kyle. So I went with a friend to watch P.S. I Love You. Since I haven't been going to the movies much I don't really follow the trailers, so I didn't know what to expect. But I loved it. Girls if you want a great way to spend two hours this is one that I recommend. But be warned to bring Kleenex. As it is a great love story. I can't imagine any guy doing what this guy did for his wife. I guess in that way it wasn't very realistic, but it had me sucked in anyway. Kris has also told me that if he dies that I shouldn't expect and letters from the grave. But if I start dating anyone else that he would haunt the both of us ( just kidding). So I have told him that this movie has raised my expectations for the dead, and I expect that I too will also receive letters once he is gone. So he better start writing. This move also makes you appreciate what you do have in life, and realise that it won't last forever, do what you love now. You don't always have to plan everything out. And most importantly treat the ones you love with respect and don't take them for granted, as we all too often do. I know that some of us out there that are army wives already do this because every other year we are faced with sending the ones that we love of to war. For those of you out there that do take everything for granted, know that your the lucky ones, and I hope that you never have to face what this woman did in the movie. Just remember that its never to late to tell someone that your sorry or that you love them.
I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. And enjoy the week to come.

Sleeping Baby

So Kyle has been asleep now for 4 hours. I can't believe it. I really don't know what to do with myself. I have done the laundry, raked up most of the leaves in the yard (they never stop), showered and emptied the dishwasher (one of my least fav. chores), and played around on line. Which by the way makes me frustrated because I would do more shopping online if it wasn't for the shipping charges. Some of them I can handle, but some are outrageous. I don't think that shipping prices should be based on the price of the item, but the weight or size of the item. Enough about that I'm sure that all of you out there have the same frustrations.

But on the other scale of my shopping online I did find a place that you send in a mold of a finger print and they can put it on a piece of jewelry. I think it's a great idea. I kind of want one of Kyles fingerprint. When I told Kris about it he laughed at me. He is so not sentimental. If you want to check out the website it is www.imprintonmyheart.com I wish that I had thought of this.

Well I hope that all of you are having a great day, and still sticking to those new years resolutions. And thanks for the support with my blog.

I'm finally doing it!

So I have broken down. I am going to start blogging so you can all see what is going on with the Thompsons. I hope that you can all forgive me while I try and figure out how I want to page set up. And into a routine of Blogging. Hope you enjoy.
Not much is going on with the household at the moment. Kris has just started the Cav. leaders course, and seems to be enjoying it. Kyle is growing like a weed. And I just can't beileve how big he really is. Time has just flown by. He is still supposed to be my little cuddly baby, with all that spikey hair. I think that I must be getting nostalgic because yesterday Kyle and I got our hair cut. And Kyle now has a faux hawk. Its pretty cute. And it reminds me of when he was a little one with all that hair sticking up. He seems to like it too. I have found him looking in the mirror a few times checking himself out. He hasn't been fasinated by the mirror in months.
