Just so you won't be worried this will be my last post for a while. Kyle and I leave for Australia today, so we can spend Christmas with our family there. I will be sure to take plenty of picture, and will blog all about it when I get back. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

Gingerbread House

This week I thought that it would be fun to make one of those gingerbread houses with Kyle and H. Kyle thought that it was great fun, because he got to eat a whole bunch of the candy that went on the house. I don't think that H quite knew what she was getting into when she agreed to this. She told me that Kyle had some very firm opinions on how this should be decorated. For example: the marshmallow on the right window. But when H tried to put on on the left, he pulled it off and said no. He also didn't want a door knob. And he took a bite of a piece of candy, and then placed it back.
This was all pretty humorous to me, but I am not so sure H felt the same way.

Here are a few pictures of the final product. The last one was the only one I could get of Kyle and the house together. He really doesn't like the camera.

More Pancakes

So Yes I made pancakes again this week. We love them in our household. But I thought I would show you more of the process. This is what it looks like in the pan, after you pour the batter in the mould. You wait until the pancake is ready to flip. Remove the mould. Flip the pancake.

And then this is what your left with. Really when you know what goes into it. Its really not all that fancy. But I have discovered that the box mix of pancakes doesn't do well. You have to make batter from scratch.

Elmo

So I did it. I broke down and took Kyle to see Elmo makes music live. The day of the show I was dreading it. I was expecting to hear lots of Elmo, and preschoolers screaming. Thank goodness this wasn't the case.Kyle was very well behaved. He didn't want to actually sit in his seat, but he stood the entire show, danced and sung along. I thought it was so cute. The show was able to hold his interest, which I think is no small feat. So If you have a little one, I would recommend the show to you.

After the show, we came home, I pulled off my Uggs that my lovely hubby bought me for Christmas. And then I see my son putting them on and walking around. I though that it was really cut, I tried to take a picture. I would stand in from of him, and as soon as the shutter opened. Click he turned around.

So I call his name, he is facing me and smiling. Click. He turns around again.
So I start running back and forth thru the small hallway. Trying to get a photo of his looking at me. He starts to think this is a really good game. So every time the Camera goes Click, he turns around.
This is the 11th shot that I took. This is when realise that his diaper had started to leak, and it was the end of fun and games. And since it was almost 10pm I decided that it was time for a book and bed.

I hope you have all had a great week. I know we have.

Etiquette

So today I was going to post about my new snowflake pancake mold, and show you pictures of that. But instead something happened to me in the parking lot of Lowes this morning that I feel the need to Blog about.

So after buying a couple of things at lowes, I wheel out my stuff in the cart, stop it next to my car, and pick up Kyle and start loading him into the car. As I am strapping him into his car seat, I look up, and there is a man. That is looking in my cart. He starts to move my stuff around. I quickly finish strapping Kyle in.

As I come around my car, and am saying "Excuse me sir" He is starting to pick my stuff up. He stopped when he heard me. But I want everyone out there just in case your mothers didn't teach you this, that it is bad etiquette to steal out of someones cart while they are strapping their child into the car.

One long Year!

So I learnt this morning that this is going to be an extra long year. Not only was it a leap year which gave us an extra day, but we are also getting an extra second, at midnight on new years eve. I didn't know this was possible, but apparently the earth rotates slightly slower than our clocks, so every now and then they give us an extra second.

I thought that was kinda neat and just had to share. Has this happened before in our lives? Does anyone remember this happening before?

Winterising

Today I spend the day winterising the house. I really noticed one set of windows letting in cold air. So I bought this kit and sealed my windows. I always thought that doing this was kinda ghetto. But today I found a way to seal them with the blinds on the outside so you don't see the film. I have already noticed the difference. I always hated sitting on that couch, because it feels chilly. So maybe I will be able to use that couch this winter.

The other plus about using this product is that it cuts down on your heating bills. Now for those of you that know yes I do live on a military post, and my heating bills should be covered right. Not the case. A couple of years ago they decided what the right amount of electricity we could use, and if we go over that then we have to pay. Which I usually go over, cause I am home all day using electricity, and I do like it warm in here, so the heating is on. So I am hoping by doing a little winterising I will finally get under the base line. And maybe even get a refund. Yes if you conserve energy you get money back. Its the army's way of getting us to conserve energy.

So in a few months I will let you know if it makes a difference in what we spend on heat.
In case your wondering, these are really easy to install, all you need is a pair of scissors, and a hair dryer. Does anyone else have anything you do to your house in the winter to keep the cold out, or to save money? Let me know, I may want to try it.

Advent Calender

The year Kyle was born his mother bought us a really nice advent calender. And instead of filling it with candy it is filled with miniature ornaments, and towards the end of the month it has a miniature nativity. Most of these ornaments were my husbands when he was little. I guess his Aunt had given him a similar calender, and his mother saved most of the ornaments.

So today I was making some minor repairs on the ornaments. And what popped into my head was last year when we were letting Kyle open the doors for the first time, was Kris made up a story to go along with each ornament. This was really cute, and it worked well with the angels, and the three wise men. But over the years some of the ornaments had been lost. So when we pull of a little bird house or a windmill, Kris had to get creative. Since these don't really work in with the whole Christmas story.

These memories made me smile, and a little sad that he's not here this Christmas to tell the story. I am not nearly as creative with my stories as Kris is. I can't wait for next Christmas when he will be home to share his version of the Christmas story again. Enjoy your loved ones this year.

Does your family have any traditions that aren't exactly Traditional?

Shoes

So its a little past nine tonight, and I am at the computer catching up on blog reading. And the doorbell rings. WTF... who is ringing my doorbell at this time of night? Well it was the UPS person. I say it was a person, cause I didn't actually see them, for all I know it could have been a elf. I can't believe that they are still out delivering this late at night. I bet its because of the snow, and the bad roads here in town.

Well the UPS person delivered me Kyles new Puma that I ordered last week. He had out grown his last pair, and I love them. They go on really easy, and I don't have to struggle to get them on. They are light weight, and don't have a really stiff and heavy sole. But that's not why I am blogging.

It the size of the shoe that got me. I ordered the next size, since Kyle had outgrown them. So that puts him in a size 10 shoe. I think that it crazy. At the beginning of summer he was wearing a size 7 shoe, and that was a little big. How can one foot grow that much in a few months. And the shoe looks so big. I couldn't believe how long the shoe looks. I measured it next to the last one, and it was only a little bigger, but for some reason it looks huge to me. Does anyone else go thru this with their children's clothes or shoes. It doesn't seem possible that he has a foot that big. Maybe I don't want to believe that he is growing up. I just wonder if his foot is this big now, then how big will it be when he's in high school? Its crazy to think about.

Well enough rambling for tonight. I hope you have a great Friday.

Christmas Lights

So this is a picture of our Christmas lights on the outside of our house tonight. I made Kris put them up before he left. But he wouldn't get up and do them on our top story. I am really considering hiring someone to do this for me. What do you think is it worth it?
On other news we went to the Vets today to have our annual shots, everyone looks fine, and Bella has lost 4 lbs in the last month. We had to put her on a diet, as she was a little over weight. The vet says she still could use to lose another 13 lbs. I think that's crazy, I never thought that she was that overweight. Poor girl. But at least shes losing now, and getting back on track.

Flowers in your hair.

So one the last night that Kris was in town we went out to eat at our Favorite restaurant in town called The Warehouse. Oddly enough it is in an old abandoned warehouse. We love the place cause it looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, but on the inside it is awesome. Half of the warehouse is a restaurant, and the other half is a art gallery. They showcase local artists, and every time we go there is new art up. We love to think that maybe one day we will be able to afford some of it. Ohh and we love that the menu changes. Everything that we have ever eaten there is awesome, and I don't think I have seen the same entree twice on the menu.

Apart for telling you about the restaurant, I was posting this picture, cause I thought that it was cute. The reason that I am wearing a flower in my hair, is that my lovely son picked it up off of my plate, and placed it there. And he thought it was the funniest thing I just love how his little mind works. And it reminded me of the great night we had as a family, before Kris left again. I hope you all have great times with your families, and don't take what you have for granted.

Not Me Monday

Well its that time of week again. Not me Monday. Hosted by McMama over at http://www.mycharmingkids.net. Feel free to play along if you like, or just checkout other peoples Not me Monday posts.

This week I did not:

Have to say goodbye to my husband yet again, and blubber all the way thru the airport on the way out.

I did not then puts us both back to bed once we got home.

When my son woke up at 6 this morning asking for juice, put him back to bed with a sippy full of water. And then have him almost sleep til ten before going in to check on him. Nope not me, I'm not that Kinda Mom.

I did not bake two loaves of pumpkin bread, and then forget to serve it on thanksgiving.

I did not watch my son put a penny in his mouth when I was changing hie diaper, and then panic when I realised that he swallowed it.

I did not then did thru poop all week to make sure that he passed it. Thankfully he did. Well he would have if he swallowed it in the first place.

I did not forget to take photos at Thanksgiving. And then I did not steal a picture from a friends blog, so I could post a picture of my own table on my blog.

I did not decorate for Christmas way early, just so my husband could help me put up the outside Christmas lights.

I have not been chewing on the right side of my mouth for the past five days, so the temporary crown that I feel is moving won't come off, since I know my permanent one isn't ready yet.

I guess I have been busy not doing things this week. So now its your turn. What did you not do this week?

Thanksgiving

So yesterday I hosted my first Thanksgiving meal. I personally didn't take any photos. So I stole that one from over at H Bombs blog. Thanks for taking pictures for me H.

Despite my Hubby being absent I had a great time. I didn't feel stressed at all with the cooking. My friends know that I love to do this kinda of stuff. And I usually don't let anyone bring anything, and I like to have my kitchen to myself.

I am very thankful for my good friends that I have made here. And they truly have become a second family. What would I do without you girls I do not know. I am so thankful that I wasn't alone all day. Even tho I did make a trip to Wally World, and the grocery store, cause I had forgotten things. Like who forgets to buy green beans for the green bean casserole? Me that's who, and I didn't realise it until Kyle was down for his nap, and we had already gone out once during the day. So I guess I am thankful for stores being open on public holidays too. Where I grew up stores would not have been open, and we would have had to go without green beans, and I would have ruined Thanksgiving dinner, with my poor preparation skills.

So over all I had a great day, I hope you all did too. Ohh and I want to know is there something weird that your family makes for Thanksgiving dinner that's fabulous, so I can steal the recipe for next year??? Please share.

Gone

Well Kris is gone. He left early this morning. This was really hard for many reasons. And not necessarily in this order.

1. We got used to having him home again.

2. We had to get up early, if you know me at all you know I'm a sleeper.

3. Saying good bye yet again.

4. Watching him have to say good bye to Kyle.

5. Watching him go down the ramp onto the plane (if your a military family member they give you a pass so you can go thru security to see your family member off).

6. When crying at the airport, and having all sorts of strangers stare at you when you you are trying to say good bye.

7. Having you two year old wipe away your tears.

8. Watching your two year old say and wave good bye to Daddy. This is the first time that Kyle has really been able to verbalise good bye, and I am sure the first time that he will really notice that Daddy's gone.

9. Coming home to an empty house.

So I ask that you pray for all the military families that will be without the ones that they love during the holidays. And to remember to be thankful, that you are at home with yours. What we just experienced this morning is one of the toughest parts of deployments. Being separated form the ones you love. I would also like to thank all of those families who are going thru this same thing, or have been thru it. Your what makes this country great, and I am very thankful for my freedom that our service members are fighting for. Thank you very much.

Kris- Mas

So I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. My Husband is just home on mid tour. So this weekend we drove to his home town in Kansas, and celebrated thanksgiving, and Kris-Mas. Since Kris won't actually be home for either.

I wanted to share that we are now calling our early/fake Christmas Kris-Mas. Kris says that Jesus gets to celebrate his birthday next month, so this is Kris-Mas. I thought that it was pretty cute, so I just had to share. Once we get back later this week I will post pictures, and tell you all about my awesome gifts.

I hope you all had a wonderful Kris-Mas weekend.

How was your morning?

So I was making Kyle wear a thumb guard to help him stop sucking his thumb. It was working too. No thumb in his mouth for over a day. He wasn't really fussing about it either. Are you waiting for the penny to drop? Well it did.

This morning when we got up, I noticed that it was kinda red. So I cut off the strap, going to give it some air. (I did that last night for a while too) Well his skin was all red, starting to flake up a bit, and it is now starting to swell. And worst of all it looks like there is a pussy blister forming on the underside of his thumb. Kyle is whining and sticking his thumb in the air. So what do I do, but get us dressed and rush him to the emergency room.

So I am waiting in line, waiting to check in. Trying to stop some lady from cutting in, and I turn around to see Kyle with his hands on the Fire alarm. Before I could stop him, he has pulled it, and the fire alarm is going off in the emergency room. I apologize, and am completely embarrassed. The still make the entire waiting room evacuate. Poor people that are sick having to go outside into the cold. Thank goodness, it was only for 5 mins.

So it turns out Kyle thumb is all infected, we get seen pretty quickly. Probably cause they want us out of there. Kyle in now on an antibiotic an Tylenol. Thank goodness it wasn't any worse. And we aren't going to use the thumb guard again. I checked their website, and it says that a small percentage of children can be allergic to the hospital grade plastic, and to discontinue use if this happens.

So that was my morning. How was yours?

Sorry The video is so dark, hopefully you can make it out. I just love Kyles laugh.

And I stopped the video, because he got on the Table, I don't allow that. And please pay no attention to the mess in the house.

Hospital Gowns

So I started sewing in the sweat shop again. I added two new styles of gowns today. And I will be adding a couple more later on in the week. I know a lot of people have been showing interest in them, so use the link on my side bar to go over to my etsy shop if your interested. If you don't see a fabric that you like, I do take custom orders. You can pick out the fabric, and I will make it. Thanks for all the support, you all have been very encouraging.

Happy Halloween

We decided that this was Kyle's best Night Ever.
He wanted to break into the candy as soon as he got it.

Kyle Pulling off his mane.

The one picture we got with it on.

This is all Kyle did until he figured that people were giving him free candy.

Wow

First of all I want to say Congratulations to McK Mama and her family, on the birth of their beautiful baby boy. Who seems to have no heart issues. What great news.

Secondly I would like to thank her for giving me a shout out on her blog, about my hospital gowns. And Can I say WOW!!! Because of her shout out yesterday I received almost 3000 hits. That's crazy. I am already at almost a 1000 today. She has the best followers. Thank you all for your kind comments about my hospital gowns. I even sold a few more yesterday.

So I guess there's only one more thing to say, and that's Happy Halloween!!!! I will post picture of our trick or treating adventures tomorrow.

Fall is almost over.

So this week I have come to the conclusion that fall is almost over here in the Rockies. We had our first measurable snow fall. We have been breaking out coats. I turned on the heat ( I feel totally justified it snowed). And I also broke out the humidifiers.

The house has been shocking me every time I touch a light switch, so I decided that It was time to break them out. The small one in my bedroom, is kinda noisy. I don't remember this from last year. It doesn't really bother me, as I like noise when I sleep. I fall asleep with the TV on. This really bugs my husband when he is home. Well this morning I discovered that the noise that the humidifier makes is a great one. It sounded like rain on the roof top. I love this sound. I always sleep better when it is raining outside, and you can hear the rain. So I have decided that I am probably going to have a very good nights sleep this winter, with my fake pitter patter of rain drops. I love it.

I hope you all had a great weekend. And enjoy the rest of fall as its almost over. (well at least it is in my neck of the woods)

100TH POST

So I thought that I would post something funny for our 100th post. Kris and I 4 years ago, went out to Dave and Busters. We sat in one of those little booth things, had our pictures taken. And they morphed together our facial features to see what our future son would look like. Yesterday I found the little print out. We always thought that it looked Hilarious. And we prayed that our real son wouldn't look like this. So what do you think? Does Kyle look like this?

Sign on my back

Do I have a sign on my back saying if your crazy I would Love to talk with you?

This happens to me anywhere I go. Crazy people come up to me and start crazy conversations. Many of my friends wonder how that happens to me, and I am now beginning to have that same idea.

Why am I blogging about this you ask. Well the other day I ventured off post, and to a post office I had never used before. It was close to a store that I wanted to go shopping at. Well the post office guy, was super friendly. I had no wait in line. This never happens to me at the post office. Kyle was behaving. Everything seemed to be going my way.

I let kyle push the buttons so the automatic doors would open. He thought this was great. The lady that was coming out right behind us, commented on how friendly everyone was in there, I agreed. This is where the normal conversation ends.

We went from everyday chit chat, to it is so hard for people in America to get a Nobel prize, because we don't think about world views enough. To She can't believe what has happened in Iraq and Afghanistan. How they don't want us there, and no ones life in Iraq is at all better than what it was before we started the war. This I had to disagree with. She wanted to know why we weren't rebuilding schools. Um Hello? We have been doing that for years now. I asked her if she thought that the Iraqi people would have been better off with Saddam still in charge. She said YES. Boy did she choose the wrong person to have this conversation with. I explained my opinions on the topic. She rebutted by saying what about the Kids that we have been bombing in Afghanistan. Um two different topics. But I am sure that we didn't go out and look for little kids to bomb, as she was suggesting.

Even better the conversation suddenly changed to politics. This was doomed from the beginning. She was equating McCain with Bush. And then calling Sarah Palin uneducated. And how could she make jokes about old people. As this woman told me she was 56 and was in that category. How would she treat older people if she was in office. Because I am sure in this crazy woman's mind that makes Palin hate all old people. Thankfully the crazy lady was getting the picture that I wasn't going to agree with her, just because she wanted me too. We also got into the topic of the economy. She blames the whole mess on Bush. Nothing to do with the fact that Americans spent beyond there means at all. Then she left in a huff.

Why do people like this choose my to have these sorts of conversation? How can I cut people off, and be on my way before these sorts of conversations start? How can I get rid of the sign on my back? Does this happen to anyone else apart from me?

Crazy Cat Wednesdays

OK so I am back to crazy cat Wednesdays. I know I haven't written one in the past two weeks. And I am truly sorry for that. H you won't have to give me grief this week about it.

So a couple of weeks after Crazy Cats toe amputation healed, he started going out side once more. This made him a really happy cat. Until one night.

I was home coloring my hair, Kris was out in the Field, and Kyle was asleep in his crib up stairs. Ding Dong. The door bell rings. I look at the clock 10 pm. That's really weird. I think to myself. Who would be ringing my doorbell at this hour.

A woman that I didn't recognise. holding something about the size of a cat wrapped up in a towel. She asks me if I own a cat. My heart sinks. Thinking that she hit Crazy cat with her car.

Boy was I wrong.

I say yes, and then she proceeds to tell me that our cats got into a fight. Then lifts up the towel, and shows me her cats wound. No I don't have a photo of it, so you don't have to worry about seeing that. But there is a flap of fur missing about the size of my palm. part was still attached, but it looked really bad.

My first thoughts were oh my gosh. What are you doing on my doorstep, why aren't you on your way to the vets? But she continues to stand there and tell me the story.

Her cat who is 14 years old was asleep in its cage, in her garage, that she keeps cracked, so it can go out potty. My cat wanders in and corners her cat and by the look of this wound is trying to kill her cat. Oh and by the way her cat is declawed, so it had no way of defending itself.

I tell the woman to get going to the vet, and that I was very sorry, and that she should bring me the bill (I found out later, that it is Colorado law that you pay for all damage that your pets inflict on others. But that's not why I did it. I felt like it was the right thing to do). Little did I know that it would cost over $700.00. That was a nice expense to tell Kris about when he got out of the field. Crazy Cats amputation didn't even cost that much.

I decide to go out side into the neighborhood to find Crazy Cat, and bring him inside. So I could check him out myself, and so he couldn't get into more trouble. Well the son of a gun didn't even have a scratch on him. Or should I say bit mark, since the other cat didn't have claws.

So I write her a check a few days later, apologise and pray that it is the end of the saga.

About a week later I am walking Bella, with Kyle and Kris thru our neighborhood. She is doing the same with her dog. And what happens, the dogs are sniffy each other, her dog nips a little, and Bella goes in for a bite on the nose. Thank goodness I see this happen, and am able to pull her back a little, so that dog didn't get the full force of my 150lbs dog. It did get a gash against its nose. I couldn't believe it. The same woman. I thing my pets were sensing some sort of evil coming off of her. Thankfully I wasn't anything serious, and we didn't have to see her much longer, as we moved a few months later.

I was nervous when we moved back into this neighborhood. She was still here, but moved about a month after we moved back in. Lets just hope that our paths don't cross again.

Well if you stuck with me thru that whole story, your a trooper. I promise that next weeks Crazy Cat Wednesday won't be as long. And have a wonderful Wednesday. Maybe even have a Margarita, in celebration that we have made it to hump day.

Not Me Monday

You can link to the original Not me Monday at MckMama's blog. She started this a few weeks, back, and is encouraging everyone to join in Not me Mondays. It is a list of things that we did not do this week. So here goes.

I did not get grosses out while cleaning out my fridge this morning.

I was not a hermit all week, only leaving it once.

I have not been driving down to the mail box, cause it takes too long to walk.

I did not put away some of the really messy toys so Kyle couldn't play with them, cause that would just be cruel.

I am not made at Nigel, who has seeming given out my cell phone number as his own. (no I don't know who Nigel is)

I am not mad at the three girls that continually call my phone asking for Nigel. And I didn't mind one little bit telling one girl eleven times that she had the wrong number.(Does she think that I am lying?)

I did not break into the Halloween candy this week, cause that would be wrong. But Skittles and starburst are so tempting.

I did not wait for Kyle went to bed, before I cut into the chocolate cheesecake, just because I didn't want to share.

Hope you all had a great week doing things that you shouldn't either. So what did you not do this week?

WHOO HOO!!!

Tonight I parked our trailblazer in the garage. For the first time ever. I think that is cause for celebration. I know I have probably had bigger accomplishments in my life, but it feels pretty good right now. I was hoping that we maybe might be able to park my car in the garage, but to be able to get the trailblazer in is awesome.

And yes H I finally got my bike lift installed. I had been procrastinating doing this for over a week now. And it was a lot easier that I expected. I will have to back out the car before I take the bike down to ride it. But I got a car in our garage. If you had never seen our garage before, you won't understand why I am so happy. Maybe you can imagine a garage that is so full of stuff that you can barely walk thru it, without stepping on/stepping over/tripping over something or another.

I hope that I can inspire someone else out there to do the same. It makes me fells so good to have that clutter gone. So I am celebrating tonight with a can of coke. I went almost a week without having one. That's also a accomplishment for me.

Hope everyone out there had a great weekend. And know that I Loooved watching all my new TV shows that were on tonight. ;)

Oh What Fun.

Sorry I was able to flip in on my computer, but it doesn't show up here.

Hopefully you will able to use your imagination.

TV Time

I Love this time of year. Not because the weather is changing, or the leaves are turning on the trees. I do like these things, but the reason that I love this time of year is because all my favorite TV shows start up again. Yes I Know its sad, but I can't help it. Last night I was in heaven with the start of the new Survivor, and Grey's Anatomy. And I am looking forward to Sunday night. With the start of new Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Desperate Housewives, and Brothers and Sisters.

I am pretty sure that I have not missed an episode of any of these show, an have some of them on DVD, and watched them numerous times.

Are there any shows that you can't miss? Any that you are looking forward to starting back up? Or am I the only crazy one out there?

Not Me Monday

So MckMama is hosting a not me Monday. Mine probably won't be as funny as the rest but here goes.

I did not procrastinate writing this post.

I did not stay in Jammies all day.

I did not leave my son in his jammies as well, only to change him into a new pair for bed tonight.

I did not chuckle to my self when My friend found a snake in her yard, and said that she was using a rake a protection, when she went to find it.

I did not chicken out of piercing my nose again, cause I think that all those tattoo places look Nasty.

I did not buy a second set of alphabet letters for my fridge, after my son lost (jammed them down the doorway) the first set.

I did not place sed magnets out of his reach so he couldn't do the same over again.

I did not leave the dose of Motrin out on the coffee table, so I wouldn't have to fight him taking it, and then be secretly pleased when he does take it all by himself.

I did not have a caffeine free day.

I did not not do it by choice. But cause I ran out of Coke.

I did not do alot of things I should have today. What did you not do?

Keeping In Touch

Sorry I have been out of touch this week. It has been crazy. On Monday I drove 3 1/2 hours into Kansas, dropped off my one and only child with his grandparents, and then drove another 3 1/2 hours home. It was a long day, and I really didn't feel like doing much after. My tail bone hurt like all heck. I broke it during delivery, and anytime I am in the car for long periods of time, something aggravates it.

Tuesday I had a officers spouses luncheon, where we played Bunco. I didn't win a thing. But the odds weren't that great since there were 80 odd of us playing. Then Tuesday night it was girls night out with the wives of my husbands unit. We went to the Melting Pot. I love that place. But I think that it is pretty over priced for food that I end up cooking myself.

Wednesday I got my hair done. I am now a blond again. This took quite a long time. My appointment was at 10am and I didn't leave until after three. I was starving since I hadn't eaten anything all day long. In the afternoon, I started cleaning out the garage. If you have ever seen how much junk we have, you know that this was going to be a long process.

Today I stayed at home. I finally got to chat to my Husband for the first time this week. Before his Internet went out. I finished cleaning out the garage. Well almost. I bought a bike lift, so my bike could be out of the way, and its missing a part, but as soon as that is done, I think that we will be actually be able to park a car in our garage. What a novel idea. This is this first time in almost two years that we will have been able to manage this feat.

Tomorrow, I am going with a friend to get a Mani/Pedi. And maybe catch a movie in the theaters. That's another novel idea. I don't know when the last time I saw a movie was. Sometime last year I bet.

And Saturday it's another long drive into Kansas. To pick up my baby boy. God do I miss him. This is the longest that we have ever been apart. I'm thankful for my in laws to give me a bit of a break. I have managed to get alot accomplished.

I hope you all out there are having a great week. Sorry I have been slacking on the blogging.

AWWWWWWWW

This face has nothing to do with McCain being on the TV.
Kris says that he thinks Kyle is going to vote for Obama.

I wanted to show off this T Shirt. It was made by a good Friend H, over at The ramblings of H-Bomb . She makes Toddler shirts. And is now selling them at http://www.heiss.etsy.com You should go check them out. They are very cute.

I also wanted to say thank you to Anita J. over at MudandCoffee. Today I received my first prize from a blog. She sent me a really cute bookmark. Just what I needed. Now I don't have to used a piece of TP. ;)

Also in the mail I got my Stellan Bracelets. Mckmama is selling Bracelets to help us keep Stellan on our minds. And to keep us praying that he will be a healthy baby boy. They are cute. I just wish that Kyle would keep his on.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I am looking to finally getting out of the house and going to dinner at H's house. Thanks for inviting me H.

Creap Creap Creap

So last night while I Creeping into Kyle's room to turn off all the lights. And I saw this. I couldn't resist taking a photo. So I quickly ran down stairs to grab my camera. Lucky he didn't wake up with the flash. I just think that looks so sweet sleeping.

Crazy Cat Wednesdays

This week crazy cat has been pretty tame. Its has started to get cold here in Colorado. Especially at night. So he hasn't spent to many nights outside like he would during the summer.

However, he did spend one night outside. And I guess so did another one of the neighbors cats. I hear thru the grapevine that around three in the morning they both decide to go into this other cats house. The neighbor left the garage door cracked. Crazy cat also has no issues about going into strange homes.

Well this particular neighbor doesn't just have one cat she has three. And one looks very similar to mine, but it has white mittens. Her third cat is a scardy cat. When she saw Zelko she started flipping out. Woke up the entire household. That's the mom and five kids. If that's not bad enough the neighbor decides that its a good time to inform another neighbor. At three in the morning.

So this week Crazy cat woke up part of the neighbor hood with his shenanigans. Not a major infraction, but something to add to the list of crazy things he has done.

Can you believe that this sweet little cat has done all these crazy things?

Dr Phil

So today's Dr Phil show was all about weight loss. Yes I think that most Americans should shed a few pounds. But what right does Dr Phil have to tell us that we all need to lose weight. He isn't exactly skinny himself. I think that Dr Phil needs to read his own book, and do his own race across the country so he can lose his own weight. Before he tells the rest of us that we need to.

Sorry about my little rant, but I had to get it off my chest.

The Dark

Kyle is afraid of the dark. I can't believe that it starts this young. I always thought it was an older child's issue, when the start thinking of monsters in the closet. But no anytime I turn off a light my son starts screaming.

This issue has gotten to the point that he won't go to sleep without light. And I am not talking just a little light. Kyle has two night lights in his room. He has the twilight turtle Which glows and projects starts on all the walls and the ceiling. He has a regular bedside lamp. And the overhead light on the ceiling. He must have all of these lights on in order to go to sleep.

How can anyone sleep with that much light on? I make sure that once he has actually fallen asleep that I go i and turn them all but the night lights off. I can still see him perfectly well with just the two night lights on.

Does anyone out there have any advice on how I can break him of being afraid of the dark? Or should we just move to Vegas now?

Crazy Cat Wednesdays

Crazy Cat is missing a toe. A toe you say. Yes a toe. No he wasn't born this way. We had to have it amputated. Why? Well that is where the crazy cat story starts this week.

Right after Kris came back last deployment, we were sharing one car.(we still owned two, but my old car was a piece of S**T and I hadn't kept it up during deployment that it no longer started) I dropped him off at work, and went on to Target. When I got home I could hear crazy cat crying in the garage where my old car was parked. I thought that he just got closed in and opened the door to let him back in the main part of the house.

What I found was not a cat that got trapped in the garage, but one that was hanging from my car. What you say. Yes hanging from my car. From what we can figure happened was that he was sitting on the hood of my car, slipped, and got caught. His toe was stuck between the the front panel and the front passenger door. and he couldn't quite reach the ground from where he was hanging.

I panic. I try to get him free. But no luck. What do I do. He was in such pain he wouldn't let me near him. I call Kris. At work in a meeting. In a frantic state. He can't just come home. I have the car. So I have to go pick him up across post, and bring him back home.

Kris takes a look, and thinks what the F***. He tries to get him loose too. No luck. We then decide that the only way is to bend the car. Yes. Bend the Car. We get out pliers. and start bending the two panels away from the cat. He is screaming. Finally he is free. We all hop in the car drive straight to the vet.

They can't see him straight away, but make him comfortable, and tell us that they will call us after they have taken X-rays. X-rays show that miraculously he hasn't done damage to anything else, just the toe. We have to make a decision. Do we want them to repair the toe, which they are not sure they can do. Or do they amputate it, and he will recover quickly, and live a eight full more lives. I call my Mum and ask her advice (shes a vet also not practicing anymore). She says that we should probably just go ahead and amputate it. So this is what we decide. The vet later said that there was no way that they could have ever saved it. But were amazed that he did no other damage.

So that is why crazy cat no longer has all his toes. And how alot of his craziness started. Hope you all had a great Wednesday.

One little Tornado

How is it that one little boy can make this much mess in approx. 30 mins. I was sitting at the table sewing, not paying too much attention to what he was pulling out of the toy closet. When I look down, this is what I find. He also won't let me put anything away while he is still awake. Even if he hasn't touched it in an hour. That is exactly what he want to play with right then and there. I hope the rest of you out there have cleaner children than I do.

So I Am That Person

Yes I am that person. You know the one. That you see in the grocery store with HUGE quantity's of everything. Why you ask am I that person? Since it is only Kyle and I. Well I will tell you. I decided that I would try and make 14 dinners in three hours. I found the directions on Kelly's website. It did take longer than three hours to do, but they all look pretty appetising. I cooked up all my meat last night Thats 7 pounds of hamburger, and 9 pound of chicken breasts. That was alot of cooking. And all my pasta. This morning I then put it all together. I recommend that if you do this, that you have a great big freezer. It takes up alot of space in my chest freezer. I think its now the fullest it has ever been.

I will let you all know how they taste as we eat them over the next few weeks.

Crazy Cat Wednesdays

So I have decided to share a story about my crazy cat every Wednesday. I did one last week about how he got a free ride in someones car engine. Well today's story isn't as eventful. Just something that I find strange about my Cat.
Each and every time we decide to go to go on a walk, he decides that he needs to go along. I know weird. It doesn't matter how far we are going. If it is just around the block, or for a few miles. He wants to go. If I don't let him, he is one pissed off cat. And you will know it.
The other weird thing about the cat is that he won't let me pick him up and carry him if it has been to long of a walk, or put him in the stroller with Kyle. He has to do it all by himself. So occasionally he lays down rests for a while, then bounds up to and past us, and then collapses again.
The last weird thing about this cat is that when he is on the walk, and starts to get hot. He starts panting. Yes that's right panting like a dog. Its pretty funny to see. I wish I had a photo to share with you. Maybe one day I'll remember to bring a camera along.
Hope you all had a great Wednesday. And that you are enjoying my crazy cat stories.

Kyle Video

I thought that I would share this little video of Kyle. This is what he does when hes happy or excited. This was captioned over this morning breakfast of waffles.

So Sweet

Today Kyle went into the fridge. Like he does most days. And handed me a punnet of blueberries. I take some out and put them in a bowl. I hand it to Kyle he says Thank you and runs into the living room where he starts eating them. A few minutes later I come into the living room and he says thank you again, and then gives me 5 big hugs. How sweet. And all over a few blueberries.

Stupid Drivers

I really hate aggressive drivers. I will tell you why. Today when driving to Target for my daily trip. I was driving in the right lane doing 60 in a 55 zone. I personally think this is an acceptable speed. Then this blue Saab driver starts sitting on my bumper. Because this really drives me nuts I slow down. He could have gotten over into the left lane and over took me. Did he do this NO. He got closer. I would generally tap my brake lights at this point, but I was afraid that if I did this then he would have rear ended me. If I didn't have Kyle in the car this probably still would have been an option.

So another car is now in the left lane beside me, so he couldn't get over. So just to spite him I decide to slow down even more. At this point I was probably doing forty. A merging lane pops up on the right hand side, and what does this idiot do, he gets in the right lane and over takes me illegally. These people really drive me nuts.

So Mr Blue Saab driver, if you just happen to read my blog, be more courteous you would have gotten to you destination faster. Don't ride on my bumper, it will piss me off and I will do all I can to piss you off too.

The Small Things.

So its amazing to me how the little things can change the way you feel. Kris bought me a bracelet for mothers day. Shortly after he left it broke. It took me a while to get to a Jewelry store to get it fixed. Kyle hates to shop now. Well today I picked it up. It has changed my mood dramatically. Every time I look down at my wrist it reminds me of how much he loves and appreciates me. The small things. Kris if you read this thank you so much.

Too Much Fun

How do you know that you probably had too much fun at Margarita Wednesday? When you take down the portable chrome stripper pole, and part of the ceiling come with it.

OK I will give you some background. I went to an adult store with one of my friends whose husband is coming home for mid tour soon. We see this stripper pole, think it would be fun to try out, and maybe learn a new skill while our husbands are gone. So we pick it up.

Last night my friend (different friend) and her husband (he is currently home, but will be deploying in a few weeks) come over for margarita Wednesday. He embarrasses very easily. Doesn't even want to think about us owning a stripper pole. Well after a few margaritas we decided to set it up. So funny he wouldn't even look at it. We were trying to get him to dance around it, but being the party pooper he wouldn't. Well anyway I went to put it away this morning, the ceiling became stuck to the top of the pole, and a little bit came down with it. Crazy.

I hope you all had just as great of a Margarita Wednesday as we did.

Peak a Boo

So up until a few days ago I didn't think that me showering was a very exciting thing to watch. My son on the other hand thinks it is. Every time I pop in the shower I have one little boy peaking he little head around the shower curtain seeing what I am up too. I continue to close the curtain. And he finally stops or so I thought then he is at the other end of the curtain giggling. Some days I almost think that he is about to hop in with me. Clothes and all. Thank goodness he hasn't done this yet.

I have almost come to the conclusion that maybe I should stop showering all together. Because if he's not playing peak a boo with the shower curtain. He is escaping out the front door and down the street. Yes he has done this twice now. He can open the dead lock on the door, and get past the Kiddie proof thing on the handle too.

This is yet another reason that my hubby should come home from Iraq. I need to be able to shower in peace.

Crazy Cat

So I own a crazy cat. And he likes to give me heart attacks. Last night he spent the night out. He does this quite often. Then in the morning he is waiting for me out the back to let him in. This morning I woke to what I thought was the doorbell ringing. When I came downstairs, there was no one there. So I go to the back door to let in the cat and hes not there. I start to panic. Why you say? Because there is a bear in the neighbor hood, and a few coyotes and wolfs. We already lost one cat a few years back here. The neighbors cat is now lost, and I saw a flyer on the mail box for another missing cat.

So as the day moves on I start to get more and more worried. Its not like crazy cat to miss a meal. When Kris is home, he sometimes cons us out of two breakfasts. So for him not to come home for one that is really weird.

Door bell rings again. One of my neighbors. With a cat crate. My cat is fine. He had been in one of my neighbors engines. And had managed to go for a ride downtown. The nice neighbor drove downtown to pick up my cat from the first neighbor that found the cat when she was headed into a meeting.

What a crazy cat. I called my Mum to let her know that he was back and he was fine. She said that she couldn't count how many cats that she had treated for burns and major issues from doing this exact same thing. (she's a vet) And says that he is a very lucky cat that nothing happened to him. I shake my head just thinking of the issues that this cat has had. I may fill you in on them in another post. He is crazy.

A lesson for Mom's of little boys.

When your son drops a small car (its half the size of a matchbox car) like the one above into the toilet don't decide that it will be OK. I did this last week. I couldn't see it at all, so I thought that it was small enough that it would make it thru the pipes on its own. But no. The toilet wouldn't flush with even just clean water in it. I ended up snaking the toilet to get it out. I did also have to end up sticking my hand (with a rubber glove on) in the toilet, which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place to retrieve the little sucker. Hope you will never have to go thru this in your lifetime. Just get it over with and stick you hand in, in the first place.

Where is my husband when I need him? Doesn't the army know that these disasters are going to happen when he is deployed? I think that Kris should be able to come home and deal with these little disasters.

What we have been up to lately.

So it has bee raining here for almost two weeks straight. Very unusual for Colorado. But we very much needed the rain. So Kyle and I have been feeling pretty cooped up. I decided that I would make Kyle a Ball pit. He loves it. Here are a few pictures.

Kyle loves standing on the outside of the pit, and then collapsing on the side wall then going into the pit.

Since Kris left, I have redecorated Kyles room. He got new furniture. And he is truly sleeping in a big boy bed now. I know its big for a little one, but he loves it. He tosses and turns all night. I think that he may have gotten that from me. My Mum used to describe me as a windmill when I slept. Watching Kyle I now know what she means.

The only problem is that I am not looking forward to painting over the navy when we move out of here.

Olympics

So I am addicted as I am each and every time the Olympic roll around. The other day before the Olympics started I was asked by a friend which country am I going to route for. For most people this isn't a hard question. But it really made me think. I couldn't answer it straight away. They wanted to know if I was going to route for Australia, the country that I was born and raised, the country that I am still a citizen of. Would I route for Lithuania. The country that my family immigrated from. Lithuanian was my first language, and growing up I associated my self with a lot of Lithuanians. Or America the country that I now live, and have done so for almost twelve years. Where I now call home. What a conundrum I am in. Can I say all three? That's what I would like to say, but what if they are competing against each other? Then what do I do? So in the swimming events I have been faced by this. I am happy if one of them win. But I find myself routing for the Australians the most. I don't know if this is fair, cause Lithuania has only been in about two of the races that I have seen. I think that I would like them to win something. They are such a small country, and it would mean so much to them. I feel like with America, they win so many medals, if they lost one or two it doesn't really matter. So that's my answer.

But the reason that I decided to do a post about the Olympics is what is with the swimmers swim suits. Have you noticed the really big white patches? It looks like they are tearing out sections of their suits. Is this what it happening? Why would they do this? These are supposed to be the most engineered suits in the would, and they are tearing out parts. It seems really strange to me.

Whatever that's my rant for the day. I hope your all enjoying the Olympics. And that you had a great Margarita Wednesday.

The Sweat Shop

So as you know from my last post, I started selling my hospital gowns. We (my friends and I) were trying to think up of a good name for it. And I kept on joking that it has been all I have done since I committed to doing it. I joked that it is my own little sweat shop. We have been joking that I don't eat, I have a camel back so I can keep hydrated. And I went out and bought adult diapers, so I wouldn't have to get up to go potty. None of this is really true, but its a pretty funny image to have in your mind. So with the joking my friend S suggested that we call my site the sweat shop. We decided that it would probably put off strangers from looking at my gowns, so I decided to call it that with my friends. And since all my blog readers are friends, I have added the link as the sweat shop. I hope you all don't mind.

On another note, with my new obsession. It has stopped my shopping habit. Yes I know shocking. I haven't been to Target since I started this endeavor. And if you know me that is a real long time. I wouldn't be surprised if Target stock dropped over the past few days. So who knew that with your encouraging words over the past few days that this was my way of quitting. The only other advice that I got was from my husband. He said that I should go cold turkey. Yeah like that would happen.

Well I better sign off. My break time is over. Got to get back to the sweat shop.

Baby Ethan

So Brooke Just mailed me some new photos of Baby Ethan. I thought that they were pretty cute, and I just had to share them. He is now three months old.
