Eww Gross

So tomorrow I take Kris' trailblazer to the repair shop. If you haven't heard it got hit in a parking lot a little over a week ago. I don't know how she did it, but the tail light is broken and she managed to scrape up two different panels. Thankfully she found me and gave me insurance info, so it won't cost me a thing to get it fixed.

Anyway back to my original point, I was cleaning out all the personal stuff that we have in the trailblazer so it can get fixed. So I decide that this would be a great time to clean Kyle's car seat. Can I say Ewwwww. I don't remember the last time that I really cleaned it, but it has been too long. So I am urging all Moms out there to take a closer look and clean those car seats. the worst part of ours was under what Kyle sits on. In the base. So if you haven't removed your car seat in a while take a closer look. I hope that you don't find what I did. How does it even get there??? Whatever its clean now. Hope you enjoyed your Sunday.

our 1st bike ride

We had a wonderful time riding on our bike yesterday afternoon. Kyle was in a grumpy mood when he got up. He didn't want to eat or drink or do anything. So when I tried putting on a helmet it wasn't received well. But once I put him in the seat and started strapping him in all was quite. He loved it, he giggled part of the way. I'm glad his mood picked up. But I can't believe how much more work it is carring the extra 35lbs. Ohh well I guess it makes for a good workout. It is my goal to be able to ride the 4.5 mile track around our house soon.

Hope you all had a wonderful day.

New Bike

So my birthday is coming up next week. So I decided that since my husband is deployed it might be hard for him to go buy me a birthday present. So as I am a wonderful wife I decided that I would go do it for him. I bought myself a bike. This is the first bike that I have owned since I was 13 years old. I am a little nervous but excited at the same time. I also bought a seat attachment so Kyle can sit on the back while I peddle away. Kyle's attachment took over a hour to assemble and attach to my bike. During that time he wanted to go down for a nap, so I will have to wait until he wakes up to try it out. I am so looking forward to it. I hope that he likes it. I will remember to post on how it goes. So happy early birthday to me!

Hope you all have a great weekend. And S. good on you for starting Wine Thursdays. We are starting to think of incorporating our belly dancing into Margarita Wednesdays. I think with our drinking it will make us a whole lot better.

5 Weeks

So it has been five weeks since Kris left. I am coping just fine, but I miss him tons. I haven't heard much from him this deployment. Communications aren't as good. It really depends on what base they are stationed. Last deployment we were able to web cam almost every day. This time round we have only been able to do this once. Kyle kept on pointing to the screen and saying Dada. I know that he misses his dad too.The thing that get to me the most is when I catch Kyle holding a picture of him and just staring at it. Or when he brings me that picture and says Dada. I think that it is sad that he doesn't understand why he's not here anymore. Lets just hope and pray that the rest of the deployment goes quickly.

Kyle's First Pony Ride

We made a trip to the zoo this morning. We had a ton of fun. Kyle got to feed the Giraffes, pat a Joey, and have his first pony ride. I was a little worried at first, that he wouldn't like it. But he had no trouble at all. I placed him on, he held on tight and off he went. He is becoming such a big boy.

Fun In the Sun

We had a wonderful weather day today. So I brought out the fun sprinklers. Kyle was a little scared at first, but soon was very happy to be playing in the water. Later he was very excited about playing in the mud. Thankfully he let me clean him off before heading on inside.

Hope you all had a great day too.

You can't see it, but this sprinkler also blows bubbles.
Lots of fun for Kyle and for Zelko (the cat).

Playing is a puddle of mud.

Having a treat after all that playing.

Sad

So over this past weekend I have been pretty sad. Kris has been gone for almost a month. I miss him a whole ton. Somehow it seems worse on the weekends. During the week I know what to do with myself. I don't expect him to be here during the day, so it doesn't seem so bad. But during the weekends I seem to look for him more so. When I see happy families it makes it worse.

It makes me sad when I hear families squabble over the other one not doing enough. I think that we should all be grateful for the time that we can spend together. I heard the other weekend someone call their wife an absentee mother, because she slept in until 9am. Are you kidding me? She is a brand new mom and this was the longest that she had slept since she had the baby. Next time you go to complain about something like this (especially around a army mom that did the first six months by herself) be considerate.

I think that we should look at the positives, not the negatives. We should all remember to praise our spouse for something that they do for us every day. I believe that if we all try to do this then our culture will become less negative overall. It makes me sad to think about how quick we are to point out the negatives, and not the positives.

I want to challenge you all not to complain about anything for just one day. See how long it takes you make it thru one day. Then try it for a week. Your outlook on life will change.

One thing that living thru my husband being deployed that I can be thankful for is, that it made me less selfish. I have learnt not to take little things for granted. It has made me appreciate the things that Kris does for me on a daily basis. And the sacrifice that he makes for me, while he is away from our family. I know now that I love him more now, then on our wedding day. And I believe that over the next decades that our love will grow stronger still.

I'm sorry if this post really makes no sense. I know i rambled quite a bit. But it makes me sad when we don't appreciate what we have while we have it.

A Wirl Wind

So sorry for not posting recently. I spent a week in Kansas with the in laws. My first trip back in a long time. I hate doing that drive by myself. Kyle and I got to spend some quality time with his Mima and Papa. Then Kris' Aunt Dot and Paula came from Arizona to visit. We started drinking Margaritas, and then Brooke Kevin and Baby Ethan joined us. It was a full house.

Saturday started out with more relatives coming over for breakfast. Then Brooke, Kevin, Ethan, Kyle and I drove to Waldo Kansas. Yes we had a few "where's Waldo" jokes. None of us really knew where it was until we got there. To Celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of Kris' grandparents. There were a ton of relatives that I have never met. And probably alot of them I will never see again. 70 people attended the celebration lunch, and all were related some way or another. That's a pretty big family in my books.

We left early from that celebration so Brooke and I could make it back to Ellsworth to her baby shower. It was very nice. And she got alot of loot. Then Back to Cindy's for dinner. Are any of you tired just thinking about this.

Sunday we actually had a day of rest. Aunt Dot and Paula flew back to Arizona. And Kevin's Dad and girlfriend flew in. More entertaining.

On Monday Ethan was Baptised. In a very nice ceremony. Too bad Kyle wouldn't sit still. He kept on pew jumping. Thank goodness it was all family.

Tuesday I made the 6 1/2 hour drive home. Did I say how much I hate to drive it. I actually had pull over to take a nap since I found my head nodding. Better a nap in a rest stop then a rollover accident on the high way right?

Hope you all had a great week.
