So I Am That Person

Yes I am that person. You know the one. That you see in the grocery store with HUGE quantity's of everything. Why you ask am I that person? Since it is only Kyle and I. Well I will tell you. I decided that I would try and make 14 dinners in three hours. I found the directions on Kelly's website. It did take longer than three hours to do, but they all look pretty appetising. I cooked up all my meat last night Thats 7 pounds of hamburger, and 9 pound of chicken breasts. That was alot of cooking. And all my pasta. This morning I then put it all together. I recommend that if you do this, that you have a great big freezer. It takes up alot of space in my chest freezer. I think its now the fullest it has ever been.

I will let you all know how they taste as we eat them over the next few weeks.

Crazy Cat Wednesdays

So I have decided to share a story about my crazy cat every Wednesday. I did one last week about how he got a free ride in someones car engine. Well today's story isn't as eventful. Just something that I find strange about my Cat.
Each and every time we decide to go to go on a walk, he decides that he needs to go along. I know weird. It doesn't matter how far we are going. If it is just around the block, or for a few miles. He wants to go. If I don't let him, he is one pissed off cat. And you will know it.
The other weird thing about the cat is that he won't let me pick him up and carry him if it has been to long of a walk, or put him in the stroller with Kyle. He has to do it all by himself. So occasionally he lays down rests for a while, then bounds up to and past us, and then collapses again.
The last weird thing about this cat is that when he is on the walk, and starts to get hot. He starts panting. Yes that's right panting like a dog. Its pretty funny to see. I wish I had a photo to share with you. Maybe one day I'll remember to bring a camera along.
Hope you all had a great Wednesday. And that you are enjoying my crazy cat stories.

So Sweet

Today Kyle went into the fridge. Like he does most days. And handed me a punnet of blueberries. I take some out and put them in a bowl. I hand it to Kyle he says Thank you and runs into the living room where he starts eating them. A few minutes later I come into the living room and he says thank you again, and then gives me 5 big hugs. How sweet. And all over a few blueberries.

Stupid Drivers

I really hate aggressive drivers. I will tell you why. Today when driving to Target for my daily trip. I was driving in the right lane doing 60 in a 55 zone. I personally think this is an acceptable speed. Then this blue Saab driver starts sitting on my bumper. Because this really drives me nuts I slow down. He could have gotten over into the left lane and over took me. Did he do this NO. He got closer. I would generally tap my brake lights at this point, but I was afraid that if I did this then he would have rear ended me. If I didn't have Kyle in the car this probably still would have been an option.

So another car is now in the left lane beside me, so he couldn't get over. So just to spite him I decide to slow down even more. At this point I was probably doing forty. A merging lane pops up on the right hand side, and what does this idiot do, he gets in the right lane and over takes me illegally. These people really drive me nuts.

So Mr Blue Saab driver, if you just happen to read my blog, be more courteous you would have gotten to you destination faster. Don't ride on my bumper, it will piss me off and I will do all I can to piss you off too.

The Small Things.

So its amazing to me how the little things can change the way you feel. Kris bought me a bracelet for mothers day. Shortly after he left it broke. It took me a while to get to a Jewelry store to get it fixed. Kyle hates to shop now. Well today I picked it up. It has changed my mood dramatically. Every time I look down at my wrist it reminds me of how much he loves and appreciates me. The small things. Kris if you read this thank you so much.

Too Much Fun

How do you know that you probably had too much fun at Margarita Wednesday? When you take down the portable chrome stripper pole, and part of the ceiling come with it.

OK I will give you some background. I went to an adult store with one of my friends whose husband is coming home for mid tour soon. We see this stripper pole, think it would be fun to try out, and maybe learn a new skill while our husbands are gone. So we pick it up.

Last night my friend (different friend) and her husband (he is currently home, but will be deploying in a few weeks) come over for margarita Wednesday. He embarrasses very easily. Doesn't even want to think about us owning a stripper pole. Well after a few margaritas we decided to set it up. So funny he wouldn't even look at it. We were trying to get him to dance around it, but being the party pooper he wouldn't. Well anyway I went to put it away this morning, the ceiling became stuck to the top of the pole, and a little bit came down with it. Crazy.

I hope you all had just as great of a Margarita Wednesday as we did.

Peak a Boo

So up until a few days ago I didn't think that me showering was a very exciting thing to watch. My son on the other hand thinks it is. Every time I pop in the shower I have one little boy peaking he little head around the shower curtain seeing what I am up too. I continue to close the curtain. And he finally stops or so I thought then he is at the other end of the curtain giggling. Some days I almost think that he is about to hop in with me. Clothes and all. Thank goodness he hasn't done this yet.

I have almost come to the conclusion that maybe I should stop showering all together. Because if he's not playing peak a boo with the shower curtain. He is escaping out the front door and down the street. Yes he has done this twice now. He can open the dead lock on the door, and get past the Kiddie proof thing on the handle too.

This is yet another reason that my hubby should come home from Iraq. I need to be able to shower in peace.

Crazy Cat

So I own a crazy cat. And he likes to give me heart attacks. Last night he spent the night out. He does this quite often. Then in the morning he is waiting for me out the back to let him in. This morning I woke to what I thought was the doorbell ringing. When I came downstairs, there was no one there. So I go to the back door to let in the cat and hes not there. I start to panic. Why you say? Because there is a bear in the neighbor hood, and a few coyotes and wolfs. We already lost one cat a few years back here. The neighbors cat is now lost, and I saw a flyer on the mail box for another missing cat.

So as the day moves on I start to get more and more worried. Its not like crazy cat to miss a meal. When Kris is home, he sometimes cons us out of two breakfasts. So for him not to come home for one that is really weird.

Door bell rings again. One of my neighbors. With a cat crate. My cat is fine. He had been in one of my neighbors engines. And had managed to go for a ride downtown. The nice neighbor drove downtown to pick up my cat from the first neighbor that found the cat when she was headed into a meeting.

What a crazy cat. I called my Mum to let her know that he was back and he was fine. She said that she couldn't count how many cats that she had treated for burns and major issues from doing this exact same thing. (she's a vet) And says that he is a very lucky cat that nothing happened to him. I shake my head just thinking of the issues that this cat has had. I may fill you in on them in another post. He is crazy.

A lesson for Mom's of little boys.

When your son drops a small car (its half the size of a matchbox car) like the one above into the toilet don't decide that it will be OK. I did this last week. I couldn't see it at all, so I thought that it was small enough that it would make it thru the pipes on its own. But no. The toilet wouldn't flush with even just clean water in it. I ended up snaking the toilet to get it out. I did also have to end up sticking my hand (with a rubber glove on) in the toilet, which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place to retrieve the little sucker. Hope you will never have to go thru this in your lifetime. Just get it over with and stick you hand in, in the first place.

Where is my husband when I need him? Doesn't the army know that these disasters are going to happen when he is deployed? I think that Kris should be able to come home and deal with these little disasters.

What we have been up to lately.

So it has bee raining here for almost two weeks straight. Very unusual for Colorado. But we very much needed the rain. So Kyle and I have been feeling pretty cooped up. I decided that I would make Kyle a Ball pit. He loves it. Here are a few pictures.

Kyle loves standing on the outside of the pit, and then collapsing on the side wall then going into the pit.

Since Kris left, I have redecorated Kyles room. He got new furniture. And he is truly sleeping in a big boy bed now. I know its big for a little one, but he loves it. He tosses and turns all night. I think that he may have gotten that from me. My Mum used to describe me as a windmill when I slept. Watching Kyle I now know what she means.

The only problem is that I am not looking forward to painting over the navy when we move out of here.

Olympics

So I am addicted as I am each and every time the Olympic roll around. The other day before the Olympics started I was asked by a friend which country am I going to route for. For most people this isn't a hard question. But it really made me think. I couldn't answer it straight away. They wanted to know if I was going to route for Australia, the country that I was born and raised, the country that I am still a citizen of. Would I route for Lithuania. The country that my family immigrated from. Lithuanian was my first language, and growing up I associated my self with a lot of Lithuanians. Or America the country that I now live, and have done so for almost twelve years. Where I now call home. What a conundrum I am in. Can I say all three? That's what I would like to say, but what if they are competing against each other? Then what do I do? So in the swimming events I have been faced by this. I am happy if one of them win. But I find myself routing for the Australians the most. I don't know if this is fair, cause Lithuania has only been in about two of the races that I have seen. I think that I would like them to win something. They are such a small country, and it would mean so much to them. I feel like with America, they win so many medals, if they lost one or two it doesn't really matter. So that's my answer.

But the reason that I decided to do a post about the Olympics is what is with the swimmers swim suits. Have you noticed the really big white patches? It looks like they are tearing out sections of their suits. Is this what it happening? Why would they do this? These are supposed to be the most engineered suits in the would, and they are tearing out parts. It seems really strange to me.

Whatever that's my rant for the day. I hope your all enjoying the Olympics. And that you had a great Margarita Wednesday.

The Sweat Shop

So as you know from my last post, I started selling my hospital gowns. We (my friends and I) were trying to think up of a good name for it. And I kept on joking that it has been all I have done since I committed to doing it. I joked that it is my own little sweat shop. We have been joking that I don't eat, I have a camel back so I can keep hydrated. And I went out and bought adult diapers, so I wouldn't have to get up to go potty. None of this is really true, but its a pretty funny image to have in your mind. So with the joking my friend S suggested that we call my site the sweat shop. We decided that it would probably put off strangers from looking at my gowns, so I decided to call it that with my friends. And since all my blog readers are friends, I have added the link as the sweat shop. I hope you all don't mind.

On another note, with my new obsession. It has stopped my shopping habit. Yes I know shocking. I haven't been to Target since I started this endeavor. And if you know me that is a real long time. I wouldn't be surprised if Target stock dropped over the past few days. So who knew that with your encouraging words over the past few days that this was my way of quitting. The only other advice that I got was from my husband. He said that I should go cold turkey. Yeah like that would happen.

Well I better sign off. My break time is over. Got to get back to the sweat shop.

Baby Ethan

So Brooke Just mailed me some new photos of Baby Ethan. I thought that they were pretty cute, and I just had to share them. He is now three months old.

So Reality TV, Not So Bad.

Late Tuesday night, I couldn't sleep. So I am watching TV. Reality TV. Tori Spellings new reality TV show. I had never seen the show before, but it was the only thing that I could stomach watching. Well it was an episode where she gives birth to her daughter Stella. She goes into hospital and changes into the hospital gown. But its not a ugly blue box print that the rest of us wear. It is cute. She said her husband bought it for her so she didn't have to look ugly.

So when I was over at Mck Mama's Blog, I noticed she has on one of those UGLY hospital gowns. And it dawns on me that she has been wearing these for the past two weeks that she has been in the hospital. Poor Girl. Not only is she dealing with problems with her unborn baby's heart. But she has to wear UGLY hospital gowns.

So since I can't do anything but pray for her unborn baby. I thought that I can send her a cute hospital gown. So I found the one that Tori was wearing. But it was $90. I can believe that. For a hospital gown. I might be cheap, but I think that's alot. Anyway I already have my mind set on sending her a "cute" hospital gown, I decide to make one.

So I load up Kyle in the car. Drive down to the hobby lobby, and end up choosing four different fabrics. So last night and today I have been making hospital gowns. Here are some pictures of the finished products. They still tie in the back like a real hospital gown, and they even come open at the shoulders but a button and some Velcro. I added a little ribbon around the rib cage/waist line (she is pregnant) to make it not look so much like a MUMU.

So because of reality TV I hope I will be able to brighten her day a little. So its not all that bad. I hope she likes them. And also if you know anyone in hospital, I will be happy to make some more. Just let me know.

This one is like the one Tori wore. And I think my Favorite.

This would be the runner up for my favorite. The colors are so bright and cheerful.

This one is paisley. You can't see it very well in this picture.

I thought that it looked kinda girly. I know thats hard with a hospital gown.

And I just love greens and blues.

I have a story to tell you.

So today I put Kyle down for his nap as usual. But this time he was just in a diaper. Well at the end of his nap I heard him moving around, but not coming out of his room as usual. So I went in. I wish that I hadn't. Kyle had removed his diaper. Probably around the beginning of nap time, since it was completely dry. He then managed to Poop on the carpet in the corner. Walk in it. Smear it all over himself, the carpet and his bedding. I was not impressed. Needless to say I spent most of the afternoon cleaning in Kyles room. What a Shitty Day.

Messy Messy Messy

I want to know how is it that one little guy can get so messy with just half of a pudding cup?
Does anyone have an answer?
